Couples Therapist, Psychotherapist – LAC, NCC
Matt is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) in the state of New Jersey and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). He received his master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Monmouth University. Matt has experience in both outpatient and intensive outpatient/partial hospitalization settings working with clients of all ages struggling with a wide range of challenges.
Matt’s primary focus is to help couples identify their stuck points and to help them find opportunities to make changes in favor of meeting their goals. He has received trainings in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as well as the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy which he uses in tandem with a variety of treatment modalities to help couples learn tangible skills and to help them find the insight needed to foster meaningful, long-term growth in their relationship.
He has also attended workshops in Imago Relationship Therapy.
Matt focuses on creating a safe and non-judgmental environment where couples can freely share their challenges and goals to effectively identify where they are at and how to best serve their specific needs. He believes that any couple can benefit from therapy and works to help couples eliminate the barriers interfering with finding intimacy, connection, and validation within their relationship.
